C. Social Studies Notebook

1. As stated in the Knights team rules, notebooks must be brought to class everyday.

2. Every student is required to keep an organized Social Studies notebook.

3. Notebook page numbers will be stated in class when pages are distributed and will also be posted in the classroom. Sample notebooks will also be available in the classroom.

4. At the end of each marking period, notebooks will be checked to make sure students are keeping all notebook pages as well as organizing them according to requirements.

5. All students will receive a grade at the end of each marking period for keeping an organized Social Studies notebook.

6. Social Studies notebook pages can be removed from students’ binders at the end of each marking period, but should be kept to use for preparation for the Survey Test at the end of the school year.


D. Textbooks

1. As stated in the Knights team rules, textbooks must be brought to class everyday.

2. Textbooks must be covered at ALL times. Paper covers are available for free from the school store. Book socks may not be used on your textbook.


E. Homework

1. Refer to the Student Planner for information about school homework policies.

2. Homework will be written on the back chalkboard daily.

3. Homework must be copied in your student planner daily.

4. If you are absent, you are responsible for seeing Mrs. Waltz for any missed assignments.

5. If you are absent, extra handouts will be placed in shelves on the side counter. It is your responsibility to pick up any missed handouts.


F. Grading System

1. Refer to the Student Planner for information about district grading policies.

2. Students will be graded on class work, handouts, homework, tests, quizzes, projects,writing assignments, reports, group work, etc.

3. Neatness counts on all assignments. If I cannot read an answer clearly, it will be marked incorrect. Be sure to take your time when completing all assignments!
