My final post is a tribute to the rest of summer. Here are some links for local places to go and things to do for the remainder of the glorious summer. Our 2nd baby is scheduled to be born on Wednesday August 11th, so I have a little less than three weeks before we welcome the new addition to our family. We are planning day trips and spending time with family/friends before life gets chaotic for a little while.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and I wish you all the best as you begin the next school year! Dr. Hardy, good luck and best wishes to you and your family.

Twitter in the Classroom
I am still struggling with using Twitter in the classroom. I have been tweeting this week and like it because you get quick snippets of information. However, I would really struggle with the set-up and management of Tweeting in a middle school environment.
In my searches, I discovered an informative and helpful article that helped me make sense of how Tweeting can be effective in the classroom. I just don't think it's for me right now.

Internet Safety
Looking for videos about internet safety? The website netsmartz.org has dozens of tools and resources to teach internet safety. This link in particular has a list of links to videos about cyberbullying, internet safety, etc. We had a detective come to our school and use the netsmartz site to demonstrate how accessible students are online. He demonstrated how online predators can find students by actually finding one of our students online.

Great Web 2.0 Website
While I was out looking for information on Web 2.0 tools, I found this great website that has a list with links to Web 2.0 tools through Discovery Education. I liked it because it seemed to have many of the tools we talked about in class all in one convenient location. I have no doubt that I will forget about most of the tools we talked about and it's great to know that I can refresh my memory just by checking out this site.
